FAQ

Looking for more information? First time joining a "watch meetup"? You're at the right spot!

Welcome to California Watch Group

Why did you create California Watch Group?

The inspiration for California Watch Group came to us after attending various watch events over the years, including those organized by authorized dealers and enthusiasts like us. We loved the events but realized they were either too infrequent or not well publicized. There are many watch enthusiasts throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, California and on the west coast, so the aim of CWG is to provide a community for people to gather in person at regularly scheduled events to share a collective passion for horology.

Do I have to be a member to attend?

We created California Watch Group with the community in mind. We do not believe in paid membership or any type of financial barriers to join. Just hit RSVP or join our email subscription list so you can be up to date with events we host monthly.

What is a watch meet up?

A watch meetup is an in-person community of watch enthusiasts who gather to share their passion with other collectors, enthusiasts and other horological nerds!

What happens at watch meetups?

At events organized by California Watch Group, you can expect a safe, friendly and respectful environment that encourages everyone to be themselves, meet other collectors and celebrate the hobby of watch collecting. Attendees are free to bring one or two watches or their entire collection. It's a perfect opportunity to see other brands and pieces - contemporary or vintage - in person for the first time. Want to try on a Rolex, Omega, Nivada Grenchen or Lorier that isn't at your local authorized dealer? Or how about a vintage 1942 Hamilton Tank? As you can see on our home page, the possibility is endless as attendees typically bring a wide variety of amazing watches ranging from vintage to modern and affordable to high end.

Every watch has a story and our meetups offer an opportunity for you to share what you love about your watches and hear from others about what inspires their collections. Our meetups are all about building friendships and connections and celebrating a love of all-things watches.

What should I bring?

Just bring yourself and a passion for watches. You don't even need to own a timepiece! When California Watch Group began organizing and hosting events, we typically only brought the watch on our wrist. As our events have evolved and grown, the number of attendees - and watches - has grown too. Some attendees even bring their entire collections to share with the community. Bring whatever you are comfortable with!

Are your events safe and secure?

Yes, the safety of attendees and security of their watch collections is a top priority at California Watch Group events. We do our due diligence by organizing our events in secure locations that are not easily accessible to the outside public.

How do I contact you?

You can get in touch with us by email at admin@californiawatchgroup.com. We will do our best to email you as soon as possible! We hope to hear from you!
